Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information mvcaretaking.com collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
1. Who we are
MV Caretaking ("we," "us") is a home caretaking service in development, based in Dukes County, Massachusetts. This website is informational: it describes a planned service and collects voluntary expressions of interest. No services are sold or booked on this site.
2. Information we collect
- Information you submit. If you join the founding list or use the contact form, we receive what you provide: your email address and, optionally, your name, the town where your property is located, your areas of interest, and any message you write.
- Technical information. Our hosting and form-delivery providers may automatically log standard technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and access times) to operate and secure their services.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used — pages visited, time on site, approximate location, and device type. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to do this. We never send it your name, your email address, or anything you type into free-text fields. When the interest form is submitted, we do record which town and which service interest were selected from the menus, so we can see which services matter most to homeowners.
3. How we use information
- To gauge interest in the planned service and decide what to build.
- To send updates about the launch to people who joined the list.
- To respond to messages sent through the contact form.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing, and we do not use your information for third-party advertising. If ownership of this project changes hands, your information may be transferred to the new owner as described in Section 5.
4. Service providers
Limited third parties process data on our behalf:
- Form delivery. Form submissions are routed to our inbox by FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which processes the submitted data solely to deliver it to us.
- Website hosting. Our hosting provider serves the site and may keep standard access logs.
- Email and newsletter tools. If we adopt an email newsletter platform for launch updates, list addresses will be stored with that provider. This policy will be updated to name it.
- Analytics. Google Analytics (Google LLC) processes site usage data on our behalf, as described in Google's privacy documentation.
- Fonts. The site's typefaces are served by Google Fonts (Google LLC), which receives standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) when a page loads.
5. Business transfers
MV Caretaking, this website, its brand, and the associated interest list are business assets. If some or all of them are ever sold, transferred, merged, reorganized, or acquired — or if such a transaction is being negotiated or prepared — the information described in this policy may be disclosed to the prospective party under confidentiality and transferred to the new owner as part of that transaction. Any successor will be required to honor the commitments of this policy or to notify you of material changes, and you will retain the right to unsubscribe or request deletion at any time.
6. Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies and similar identifiers used solely for the aggregate measurement described above. The site sets no other cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google's browser opt-out add-on — the site works exactly the same without them.
7. Data retention
Founding-list submissions are kept while the service is in development and, if we launch, for as long as you remain subscribed. If the project does not proceed, the list will be deleted. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 9).
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, consistent with applicable Massachusetts data security requirements. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe. Every update email includes an unsubscribe option, and unsubscribing is honored promptly.
- Access, correction, deletion. You may request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to us via the contact page. We will respond within a reasonable time.
10. Children's privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service develops — for example, when analytics or a newsletter platform is added. The effective date above will change with each revision, and material changes will be noted on this page.
